Everything you need to know about how Koali works, for candidates and recruiters alike.
Yes. Every application costs one credit, a few dollars, and that is deliberate: a small, real cost means people apply to the roles they genuinely want. Every application carries the same guarantee: every recruiter on Koali is contractually required to respond within 10 business days, or the credit is returned. Subscribing lowers your per-application rate and adds perks like application analytics and priority placement.
Every application costs one credit. Credits come via a monthly subscription or a one-time bundle, and work out to a few dollars each. Full pricing is on the pricing page.
If a recruiter fails to respond within 10 business days, our automated system flags the breach and returns your application credit to your Koali account automatically. You never lose a credit to a recruiter who ignores you.
Every recruiter is required to either shortlist you or decline with a personalised note. Not a generic rejection template. The note must be substantive. This is enforced by the platform and affects the recruiter's public response rate and rating.
Each listing has a cap: a maximum number of applications it will accept. The exact cap is set by the recruiter, but it is always deliberately small. Once the cap is reached, the listing closes. You can see remaining spots on every job listing page.
No. Credits never expire - whether from a bundle or a subscription. Buy a bundle when pricing suits you, or subscribe for the best per-application rate. Either way, unused credits are yours until you use them.
Recruiter access on Koali is subscription-based. Once your subscription is active, you can create listings, review applications, and confirm placements without separate per-placement billing.
Recruiters pay a recurring subscription to access posting and workflow tools on Koali. Placement confirmations are recorded for reporting, but they do not trigger a separate invoice or success fee.
Traditional job boards charge upfront and give you unlimited, unfiltered applications. Koali pairs recruiter subscriptions with deliberately small, hard-capped applicant pools, so the quality of the pool is significantly higher.
Yes. You set your own cap when creating or editing a listing. The cap is the maximum number of applications your role will accept. Once reached, the listing automatically closes. We recommend keeping it tight: the smaller the pool, the higher the average quality.
Every recruiter on Koali commits to responding to all applications within 10 business days of submission. Our automated system tracks every deadline. If you miss one, the breach is flagged, your public response rate is updated, and the candidate's application credit is automatically returned to their Koali account.
Before you can post a live role, your account must be verified by the Koali team. Verification involves confirming your identity, your company, and your role as a legitimate hiring professional. Verification typically takes 1 to 2 business days.
Yes. You can close a listing at any time from your recruiter dashboard. If you need more applications after closing, you can re-open a listing as long as it has not been filled. You can also set a deadline date on each listing for automatic closure.
Koali is for serious candidates who are tired of applying into the void, and for recruiters who want a high-signal pool of applicants without paying upfront. It works best for professional and technical roles where deliberate, quality hiring matters.
Yes. Your data is protected with row-level security, meaning it is only accessible to you and the recruiters reviewing your applications. Payments are handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never store card details and we do not sell your data.
If a listing reaches its cap before you apply, you will see a "Full" indicator and the listing will no longer accept new applications. If you have already applied and the listing closes afterward, your application is still reviewed normally.
