Recruiter Vetting Policy

Every recruiter on Koali is manually reviewed before being permitted to post a live role. This is non-negotiable and is how we protect candidates who spend real money on their applications.

Why we vet every recruiter

Candidates on Koali pay per application. They are guaranteed a human response within 10 business days. That guarantee is only meaningful if the recruiter on the other end is real, accountable, and genuinely hiring.

Unvetted job boards are full of ghost roles, data-harvesting scams, and recruiters who never respond. Koali exists to fix that. Manual vetting is the foundation of that commitment — not a nice-to-have.

Our vetting process

1

Account creation

A recruiter creates an account and acknowledges the Recruiter Agreement, including explicit SLA, salary disclosure, and non-discrimination obligations.

2

Identity and company verification

Our team verifies that the recruiter is a real individual at a real organisation. This includes confirming the company's existence via public records, LinkedIn, or direct contact. We may request additional documentation for companies that are hard to verify independently.

3

Role intent review

Before a recruiter's first listing goes live, we review the role description to confirm it represents a genuine, active employment opportunity with a real salary range and a legitimate hiring intent.

4

Ongoing monitoring

After initial approval, recruiter behaviour is monitored for SLA compliance, response quality, and any candidate-reported concerns. SLA breach counts are tracked automatically and surfaced to the Koali team for review.

5

Suspension and removal

Recruiters who breach the terms of the Recruiter Agreement — including SLA failures, salary misrepresentation, discrimination, or fraudulent listings — are suspended or permanently removed. There is no appeal process for proven fraud or discrimination violations.

What we check

  • Company legitimacy: Does the company exist? Is it registered and operating?
  • Recruiter identity: Is this a real person with a verifiable association to the company?
  • Role legitimacy: Is this a genuine, active role with a real salary range?
  • Prior platform conduct: Has this recruiter (or their company) had issues on other platforms we are aware of?
  • SLA capability: Is the recruiter in a position to realistically respond to all applications within 10 business days?

What vetting does not guarantee

Vetting confirms that a recruiter is who they say they are and that the role appears genuine at the time of review. It does not guarantee:

  • That the role will remain open or that a hire will be made
  • That the recruiter's company is financially stable or will not change hiring plans
  • That a candidate will receive an offer or interview
  • That the recruiter's description of company culture or growth is accurate

If you believe a listing is misleading or fraudulent, use the “Report this listing” button on any listing page. We investigate all reports within 2 business days.
